Workshop on Sharing Program Self-Assessment Survey Results with Stakeholders


A workshop on “Sharing Program Self-Assessment Survey Results with Stakeholders”, organized by Institute of Appropriate Technology (IAT), Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) was held at IAT Seminar Room, BUET on December 13th, 2017. The workshop is a consequence of Program Self-Assessment Exercise at IAT initiated by Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), HEQEP, BUET on February 4th, 2017. Professor Dr. M. Nurul Islam, member of Syndicate and former Director of IAT, BUET was present to grace the workshop as the chief guest. Professor Dr. M. Kamal Uddin, former Director of IAT and Professor Dr. M. Rafiqul Islam, Director of IQAC, BUET were present as the special guest in the workshop. The goal of this workshop is to share the survey results obtained from the stakeholders of IAT about the Masters of Science in Management of Technology (MoT) program. Professor Dr. Mohammad Arif Hasan Mamun, Director of IAT, BUET shared the survey results which were based on the separate questionnaire for Faculties of IAT, Alumni, Current students, Employers, Non-academic staffs of IAT, BUET.

Director of IAT presented how IAT is creating better professionals through MoT program by improving their communications skill, interpersonal skill and work skill. It was concluded from the survey that, according to the employers of different industries MoT graduates’ performance exceeded expectations. At the end of each survey results Dr. Mohammad Arif Hasan Mamun also shared the suggestions provided by the stakeholders which included collaboration with industries, focus of industrial training and marketing skills.

After his presentation Professor Dr. M. Nurul Islam and Professor Dr. M. Kamal Uddin shared their experience regarding MoT program in IAT. Professor Dr. M. Rafiqul Islam, Director of IQAC admired how IAT is conducting the IQAC tasks for the betterment of the Institute. Finally former students of IAT shared their experience in MoT. This event was a memorable one as three directors of IAT were present at the same time.
